U.S. Industrial and Consumer Labeling Course
Course Overview

This one day course is designed to provide information on both industrial and consumer labeling requirements for chemicals manufactured and sold in the United States. In addition to the legal requirements outlined by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) respectively, the importance of ANSI Z129.1 to compliant labeling is reviewed. Pennsylvania, New Jersey and California labeling requirements are also reviewed.

Students attending this course will receive a copy of ANSI Z129.1-2006 (The American National Standard for Hazardous Industrial Chemicals – Precautionary Labeling).


Regulatory Coverage

This course covers United States federal labeling requirements for industrial chemicals (29 CFR 1910.1200 and 29 CFR1910.1001-1052) as well as the United States federal labeling requirements for chemicals sold into the consumer market (16 CFR parts 1401, 1500 and 1700).

Prerequisites

This course is designed for individuals who are new to hazard communication or need a review of the various labeling requirements for chemicals in the United States.
