About the Instructors:

This course is co-instructed by Jennifer Mahoney, ChemADVISOR, Inc. and Douglas Mowat, CED.

Mr. Mowat is a British born Swiss national with graduate and post-graduate degrees in chemistry from the University of Glasgow in Scotland. He is the owner and chief executive for the Chemical Exchange Directory (CED) located in Geneva Switzerland. CED (http://www.ced.ch) has been in business since 1985 providing services in safety and environment compliance. This includes creation of EU Safety Datasheets and EU supply labelling, development and marketing of multi-language phrase libraries for Safety Datasheet preparation, provision of editorial services to the European Commission for chemical related data/content provision and providing advice on EU notification dossiers. Prior to CED, Mr. Mowat worked for various European divisions of Dupont (1981-1984) and Ciba Geigy (1973-1980).

Ms. Mahoney graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science degree from Walsh University with a double major in Chemistry and Biology. She is a member of the American Chemical Society, and of the Society for Chemical Hazard Communication where she currently serves as Chair of the Professional Development Committee. She has been employed by ChemADVISOR, Inc. since August 2004 and since September 2005, has led the Consulting Group as ChemADVISOR’s Team Leader, Hazard Communication Services. Ms. Mahoney is responsible for the creation and maintenance of (Material) Safety Data Sheets and Label documents, providing global regulatory compliance assistance for numerous clients. She is involved with the development and testing of ChemSDS Pro, ChemADVISOR’s (M)SDS Authoring Software system, for which she is also responsible for customer training and technical support. Ms. Mahoney serves as an instructor for several of ChemADVISOR’s training courses covering US and international hazard communication regulations as well as the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling (GHS). Ms. Mahoney and her team are trained in a number of authoring platforms including SAP EHS, WERCs, Intelligent Authoring.
